Busy Philipps has sparked excitement among fans by suggesting a potential Dawson's Creek reunion could happen in 2025. The actress, who joined the show in its fifth season, appeared on The View and responded to speculation about reuniting the cast.
“I really hope so,” Philipps said. “I feel like 2025 is our year... getting the gang back together.” She revealed she had recently met with co-stars Michelle Williams and Katie Holmes, and noted that James Van Der Beek was in town in December, referencing his cancer diagnosis as a factor that “rocked everybody.”
Van Der Beek, who played Dawson Leery, announced in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. He later gave a positive health update, stating he felt “great” physically and emotionally. The actor also humorously explained why he doesn't let his six children watch the show, saying he doesn't want them to see their dad “pretend to go through puberty.”
Dawson's Creek originally aired from 1998 to 2003, starring Van Der Beek, Williams, Holmes, and Joshua Jackson. Philipps joined as a recurring character in season five and became a series regular for the final season.
