Brooklyn Beckham has unfollowed Gordon Ramsay on Instagram just hours after the celebrity chef appealed to him to mend fences with his parents David and Victoria. The move comes amid a reported family rift involving Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz.
Gordon, who previously mentored the aspiring cook, spoke this week about maintaining his friendship with Brooklyn despite being close friends with David Beckham. He commended Brooklyn's 'incredible heart' while cautioning that his drive to 'forge his own path' risked making him lose sight of 'where he came from'.
Shortly after the interview went live, Brooklyn removed his former mentor from his Instagram following list. Gordon continues to follow Brooklyn's account, indicating he hasn't been blocked by the 26-year-old.
A source told MailOnline: 'Brooklyn and Nicola clearly don't want any criticism at all, they just don't want to hear any negativity about themselves. They must hate being talked about unless it's gushing. Maybe they don't like the truth.'
The Ramsay and Beckham families share a longstanding friendship, with Brooklyn and Gordon's son Jack, also 26, growing up together. Gordon is widely believed to be godfather to the Beckhams' youngest child, 14-year-old Harper Seven, or was at minimum considered for the role.
Speaking to promote his forthcoming Netflix series Being Gordon Ramsay, the chef discussed the situation and his conviction that the family will eventually reconcile. 'Time's going to be the best healer, and David will absolutely get that relationship back on track,' he added.
