Cruz Beckham, 20, has given fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the creation of the cover for his upcoming double single, Optics and Lick The Toad. The aspiring singer, who is the youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham, shared a video on Instagram showing the photoshoot process, which also featured his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30.
The video shows Cruz arranging slabs of concrete on a white background in a warehouse, covered with a translucent sheet held in place by bright orange bags. Jackie Apostel, a Brazilian songwriter, is seen lounging on a couch during the shoot, wearing a black crop top and matching trousers. The final cover depicts Cruz in silhouette, backlit with a greenish light.
Announcing the release on Instagram, Cruz wrote: 'OPTICS and LICK THE TOAD double single release out this Friday 24 October.' The singles mark his debut after months of cryptic social media hints. He has also performed intimate shows, including one at east London's George Tavern, where he played tracks like Optics, Caroline, For Your Love, and Lick The Toad.
Jackie Apostel recently recalled how she and Cruz met in the studio while writing songs together, describing him as an 'unbelievable musician.' She wrote on Instagram: 'We first met when we were put in the studio by our managers to write some songs together... I left that day knowing you were an unbelievable musician but most importantly that you loved it so much from the bottom of your heart.' Their relationship became public in June 2024.
