Brooklyn Beckham Defends Nicola Peltz Against 'Misogynistic' Control Claims
Brooklyn Beckham hits back at 'misogynistic' control claims

Friends of Brooklyn Beckham have launched a fierce defence of his wife, Nicola Peltz, dismissing rumours that she controls him as "misogynistic" and "sexist". The backlash comes as the rift between Brooklyn and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, appears to widen, marked by a formal legal request to cease contact.

Friends Denounce 'Sexist' Narrative

Insiders close to the 26-year-old have hit out at what they describe as a damaging and outdated narrative. A source stated that allegations of Nicola being "controlling" are "deeply insulting", framing the situation as a classic case of blaming a woman for a man's actions. "This narrative is so sexist and misogynistic, and he does not stand for his wife being vilified in this way," the source said. They emphasised that Brooklyn is "very much his own man" as he forges a path independently from his famous family.

The Legal Letter That Blindsided the Beckhams

The defence of Nicola follows the revelation that Brooklyn and Nicola, 31, sent a legal letter to David and Victoria Beckham in the summer of 2025. The correspondence, sent by Nicola’s law firm Schillings to the Beckhams’ representatives Harbottle and Lewis, requested that his parents stop contacting them directly or mentioning them on social media.

A source with knowledge of the situation explained the drastic step: "Nobody ever wanted to do something like this, but unfortunately, his request had constantly gone ignored by his family. He did what he had to do to protect himself." The letter was described as a request and has not led to formal legal action, but its aggressive tone is said to have left David, 50, and Victoria, 51, devastated and blindsided. The Beckhams are understood to have only been trying to reach out to resolve the ongoing feud.

A Family Rift and Ongoing Tensions

The family discord became publicly apparent when Brooklyn and Nicola did not attend David's 50th birthday celebrations in London. Friends of Nicola have previously suggested she helped Brooklyn recognise "emotional abuse and toxic behaviour" within his family, a claim vehemently denied by the Beckhams' circle.

Further strain was added when the couple renewed their wedding vows in August 2025 without inviting David and Victoria. Speaking about the intimate ceremony, Brooklyn said, "We just wanted a really beautiful experience... I could renew my vows every single day with her."

Despite the rift with his parents, Brooklyn remains in contact with both sets of grandparents, with a source confirming "a lot of love for them" that has never faltered.

The couple's propensity for legal action is noted; Nicola's father previously hired high-profile lawyer Marty Singer to sue their wedding planners in 2022, and Nicola is currently suing a dog grooming business over the death of her chihuahua. Despite the tensions, the Beckham family is said to remain hopeful of a reconciliation, with a friend stating they "will always be there for their son."
