Bridget Fonda's Weight Loss Sparks Hollywood Comeback Rumours

Bridget Fonda has been spotted looking radiant in Santa Monica, fuelling speculation of a Hollywood comeback. The 62-year-old actress, who largely stepped away from the spotlight after the birth of her son in 2005, has lost around 100 lbs and appears increasingly confident in public.

Fonda was seen running errands in a casual outfit of a grey T-shirt, loose black trousers, and a green button-up shirt, paired with black trainers and sunglasses. Her grey hair was tied back in a low bun. Recent months have seen her making more frequent public appearances, often while shopping or meeting friends.

In past interviews, Fonda expressed a desire for a normal life away from fame. 'Nobody on the street recognises me, but I love that because it gives you someplace to go,' she told The New York Times. She also acknowledged the sacrifices of celebrity: 'You really give up your life, in a way. Your growth pattern is altered because everything you do is magnified and scrutinised.'

Fonda hinted at her intention to leave Hollywood after becoming a mother, saying she wanted to 'put away movies for a long while and be satisfied with that.' Her career includes iconic films such as Single White Female, The Godfather Part III, Jackie Brown, and Point of No Return, earning her Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

Despite her accolades, Fonda has spoken about her relentless work ethic and self-criticism. 'I'm very work-obsessed. It's how I define myself,' she said. 'I'm never completely happy with what I do on screen. What comes out is never as good as I think it'll be.' Her father, Peter Fonda, noted that her drive was different from his own or her grandfather Henry Fonda's, describing it as a focused ambition to pack in as many good films as possible.

Fonda has also been open about her struggles with self-esteem. In a 2000 interview, she said, 'What is it with my low self-esteem? I'm trying to be happy with my career. I think I should give myself a break, but I've got this bug that rides me. 'You should be doing better.'' Her recent weight loss and increased public appearances suggest a new chapter, with fans hopeful for a return to the screen.
