Brandon Blackstock, the talent manager and ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson, has died at age 48 after a private battle with cancer. Just weeks before his passing, his eldest daughter, Savannah Blackstock Lee, announced she is expecting her second child.
Savannah, 23, a realtor based in Florida, revealed the news on July 5 via her now-private Instagram account. She and her husband, Quentin Lee, are expecting a baby girl in early January. The couple already has a three-year-old son named Lake.
“We've been keeping a couple sweet surprises,” Savannah wrote. “One little girl will be making her arrival at the beginning of January and another beautiful girl named Julianna who has already been one of the greatest blessings to our family.” She added, “The Lord has been so faithful... He's answered prayers we never even knew how to pray.”
Savannah is Brandon’s daughter from his marriage to Melissa Ashworth, which lasted from 2001 to 2012. The former couple also shared a 19-year-old son, Seth. Brandon’s death was announced on Thursday in a family statement, which noted he “bravely battled cancer for more than three years” and passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
The news came a day after Kelly Clarkson announced she was postponing her Las Vegas residency to be present for her children. Kelly and Brandon, who were married from 2013 to 2022, share two children: daughter River, 11, and son Remy, nine. Brandon is also survived by his parents, Elysa Gayle Ritter and Narvel Blackstock, and former stepmother Reba McEntire.
