Chantelle Houghton, the winner of Big Brother in 2006, has shared the secret behind her four-and-a-half-stone weight loss as she celebrates her 40th birthday. The former reality star, who entered the Channel 4 show as a 'fake celebrity' and won £25,000, says she now feels fitter and healthier than ever.
Houghton, a mother to 11-year-old daughter Dolly with ex-boyfriend Alex Reid, revealed that cutting out all sugar and processed foods was key to her transformation. She now weighs 9st 6lbs and is a size eight, after previously being so overweight that she says people thought she was pregnant.
“I’ve lost about four and a half stone... physically and mentally I feel amazing. I’m completely sugar-free. I don’t eat or drink any sugar. The effect of doing that has had such a positive effect on me. I’m the healthiest and fittest I’ve ever been,” she said in an interview.
Houghton also hit back at trolls who accused her of using diet pills, injections, or having liposuction. She insisted her weight loss was achieved naturally through diet and exercise, including personal training and boxing. “I have NOT had liposuction and I have NOT taken diet pills or injections,” she stated.
She added that she feels “freeing” to be comfortable in her own body, having felt “trapped” for a long time. Houghton shared photos of her slimmed-down figure on Instagram, telling followers she was “so proud” of her progress.
