The bitter feud between Brooklyn Beckham and the Beckham family has taken another dramatic turn. David and Victoria Beckham have responded to suggestions that their daughter Harper's visit to Brooklyn Beckham's residence was orchestrated for the cameras.
The latest development in the family's continuing dispute emerged when reports surfaced that 14-year-old Harper had travelled to Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz's Beverly Hills property while in Los Angeles for David's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. According to reports, Harper arrived at the address hoping to see her eldest brother but departed shortly afterwards without making contact. It was subsequently claimed she had been hand-delivering a letter.
However, the visit was not received well, as a representative for Brooklyn and Nicola stated: "That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras."
David and Victoria have now strongly dismissed the allegation and defended their youngest child. A source close to the couple told Daily Mail: "It's incredibly sad that this horrible accusation is being levelled at an innocent young girl who just desperately misses her brother. Nothing needed to be said at all so to invent this nasty accusation is really unnecessary."
The emotional reaction has introduced a fresh dimension to the acrimonious family disagreement, which has captured headlines in recent months. Harper has predominantly stayed away from public attention throughout the dispute, with reports indicating she has found the deterioration in relations between Brooklyn and the remainder of the family difficult. Sources have previously suggested the teenager was especially distressed by the widening gap between herself and her eldest brother, with the two formerly sharing an exceptionally strong bond.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn seemed to indicate he was far from the Beverly Hills property during the visit. Shortly after the reports emerged, he posted a social media update from New York City, showing himself out jogging.
The most recent dispute follows Brooklyn publicly declaring earlier this year that he did not wish to reconcile with his family. In a succession of explosive social media posts, he alleged stepping away from his relatives had brought him peace and relief after years of anxiety.
Despite the intensifying war of words, David has persistently declined to address the family fallout publicly, previously maintaining it remains "a private matter".
