Princess Beatrice made a revealing five-word request to her husband as the couple entered the church on Saturday. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi joined his wife, along with Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, at Peter Phillips' wedding to Harriet Sperling on June 6. It was previously speculated that the sisters might have snubbed their cousin's big day, but they decided to step out in support and join the rest of the royals at All Saints Church in Kemble, near Cirencester.
Beatrice's Request to Edoardo
According to a lip reader, Beatrice told her husband that he looked like he was struggling with his umbrella, to which he replied: "Do I?" The 37-year-old then appeared to make a request to her husband, asking him: "Can you hold my hand?" The exchange suggested a moment of tension as the couple navigated the public event.
Eugenie and Beatrice's Tense Appearance
According to the lip reader, Eugenie, who is pregnant with her third child, and Beatrice both appeared tense as they made their first appearance at a royal event this year. The sisters are continuing to deal with the fallout of their parents' connection with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Speaking after Beatrice and Eugenie's appearance, a former BBC royal correspondent deemed their decision to attend the event as "brave." She told the Mirror: "I thought it was quite brave of Beatrice and Eugenie to show up… knowing that the cameras would be on them. They've had a lot of highly critical press lately, and it can't have been easy for them to face the media. But they did seem to keep quite a low profile, particularly as the bridal party left the Church."
Official Wedding Pictures Released
Just two days after their wedding, two official pictures of the newlyweds, who made their public debut in 2024, have been released. One of the pictures, which were taken by photographer Mark Nicholson, was captured at the wedding, and the second at the wedding reception.
