Trooping the Colour has officially kicked off in central London to mark the official birthday of King Charles III. BBC viewers have been tuning in to the annual event this morning as the grand procession returned for another year.
Princess Kate's Stunning Appearance
For the spectacle, members of the Royal Family travelled in horse-drawn carriages, with the King surrounded by a Sovereign's Escort and Household Cavalry. As the procession got underway, BBC viewers' attention was focused on Princess Catherine, who was in a carriage with her children, Princess Charlotte, Prince George and Prince Louis.
The 44-year-old Princess of Wales looked stunning wearing a light blue dress with white piping and a large, statement hat. Her brunette locks were in a bun, and she accessorised with pearly floral burst earrings.

BBC viewers were quick to comment on the princess' outfit. Taking to X, one viewer shared: "HRH The Princess of Wales looks divine." Another added: "I can never get enough of this beauty. Wow. I'm stunned. Face card never declines."
A third added: "We already have Kate Middleton and her children. As always, stunning at the #TroopingtheColour." Someone else penned: "Catherine is the Lioness of Windsor." Meanwhile, a fifth remarked: "Our Princess Catherine in pale blue. Stunning." Another added: "Princess Catherine is looking very regal and beautiful at Trooping The Colour."
Comparison to Princess Diana
Others noticed how her outfit for the royal occasion bore a striking resemblance to the one Princess Diana wore in 1987.
The Parade and Flypast
As part of the pageantry, the King will lead his guards back up The Mall to Buckingham Palace, and a 41-gun salute will be fired in Green Park. Then the Royal Family will gather on the Buckingham Palace balcony to greet the crowds below and watch a flypast by the Royal Air Force.
Trooping the Colour can be watched on BBC iPlayer.
