Apple Martin, 21, Launches First Fashion Campaign with Self Portrait

Apple Martin, the 21-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, has landed her first major fashion campaign as the new face of London-based label Self Portrait. The aspiring model announced the collaboration in a casual selfie video shared on the brand's Instagram account.

In the video, Martin said: "It is me, Miss Apple Blythe Alison Martin, coming to you from the floor in a gorg self-portrait little baby tee and these cute ass earrings. And I'm so excited to be the new Miss self-portrait and for the campaign to come out." The brand, founded by Han Chong in 2013, welcomed her with the caption: "Welcome to the family @applemartin."

Self Portrait has previously collaborated with high-profile celebrities including Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid, Naomi Campbell, Irina Shayk, Bella Hadid, Kate Moss, Jisoo, and Phoebe Dynevor.

In a recent interview with Interview magazine, Martin opened up about the scrutiny she has faced growing up in the public eye. She admitted to feeling "very anxious about making mistakes" due to the constant surveillance, referencing Michel Foucault's 'Discipline and Punish'. She said: "I feel like I’ve grown up with that, which is really scary and makes me very anxious about making mistakes. So I was really discouraged from doing anything in the public eye."

Martin, who is studying law at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee, explained that she initially chose law because she was too "insecure and nervous" to pursue acting. She said: "I loved acting, but I was insecure and nervous, so I was like, 'Oh my god, if I’m a lawyer, I can perform on the stage in a trial setting.'" She added that she wants to help people if she becomes a lawyer.
