Annie Star Aileen Quinn Spotted in LA at 54

Aileen Quinn, best known for playing the titular role in the 1982 film Annie, was spotted in Los Angeles at the age of 54. The actress, who shot to fame as a child star, now bears little resemblance to the freckle-faced orphan she portrayed over four decades ago.

Quinn's iconic red curls have been replaced by auburn waves, but her legacy as the feisty Annie remains. After the film's success, she voiced Dorothy Gale in the 1982 animated The Wizard of Oz and appeared in The Charmkins (1983) and The Frog Prince (1986) before stepping away from acting to study political science at university.

Today, Quinn works as a theatre professor at Monmouth University in New Jersey and is the lead singer of the Los Angeles-based rock band The Leapin' Lizards. In 2015, she reunited with her Annie co-star Tim Curry at a Tony Awards viewing party, marking their first meeting in 33 years.

Speaking about the reunion, Quinn told People magazine that Curry, who played Rooster Hannigan, was the only cast member she had not seen since the film. She described the moment as emotional, noting Curry's kindness and the twinkle in his eye, despite the years that had passed.
