I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star Angry Ginge is taking secret inspiration from cricket legend Ben Stokes as he battles through the jungle, his family has exclusively revealed.
The Redhead Connection Down Under
The streaming sensation, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, is mirroring the never-say-die attitude that has made England's Stokes a sporting hero. Despite being thousands of miles apart, both British redheads are currently making their mark in Australia.
Ginge's uncle Sam highlighted the parallel, telling us: "It's perhaps no coincidence that two British Ginges are taking over Australia – one smashing sixes and the other smashing trials." The connection comes as Ben Stokes and England begin their first of five Test matches against Australia in Perth today.
Jungle Triumphs and Preparation Secrets
The 24-year-old social media star has already proven himself a formidable competitor in the Bushtucker Trials. In last night's Bushtucker Camp Fright, Ginge tackled the Rotten Removals challenge with various critters, winning four out of four stars.
He previously dominated The Divey eating trial, securing 10 stars alongside Ruby Wax. A source close to the production noted: "He is fast becoming a force of nature in the trials, rather like Ben at cricket. And there should be plenty more to endure as his fan base are extremely loyal and are voting in their droves."
Show insiders confirm that this series has recorded the highest number of votes ever, indicating massive public engagement with Ginge's jungle journey.
Behind-the-Scenes Preparation
Ginge took his jungle preparation seriously, receiving valuable advice from last year's runner-up Coleen Rooney. He revealed: "I've had some advice off Coleen, so that was good... some tips and tricks while we're in there. I'm not going to be sharing it because I feel as though once I share it, that advice will be nullified therefore I won't be able to use it."
In a secret birthday phone call to his mother Michelle last Friday, the star disclosed his unusual mental preparation method. Michelle shared: "Morgan young lad sounded absolutely buzzing. He told me he's been watching SAS: Who Dares Wins to get himself mentally ready for the jungle, which is so him."
Adding to the pressure from home, Ginge previously revealed that Coleen's husband Wayne Rooney is actively voting for him to face more trials. He said: "He was buzzing when I told him I was up for it. He said he can't wait and he'll be voting for me to do trials as well."
