Michelle, the mother of I'm A Celebrity star Angry Ginge, has revealed the real story behind his nickname and admitted she doesn't like it. The online FIFA streamer, whose real name is Morgan Burtwhistle, is known for his fiery handle, but Michelle insists he is the opposite of angry.
Appearing on Lorraine, Michelle said: 'I am so, so proud of him and he isn't angry. That was the name he came up with quite a few years ago when he used to sulk when he'd lost a football match on FIFA but now he's not angry, he's the most caring, kind person you could meet!' She urged viewers to keep voting for him to become King of the Jungle.
Michelle also expressed surprise at how Ginge has overcome his fear of spiders in the jungle, saying he 'doesn't even like putting the wheelie bins out at night in case there's a tiny spider on it'. She said she was 'so proud' of his achievements so far.
Ginge's friend Jakey Davies, part of The Bov Boys, revealed the emotional motivation behind Ginge's jungle stint: 'He said he wants to do it for her and make her proud - he values his family so highly.' Michelle raised Ginge and his sister on a council estate in Salford on a salary of £12,500 a year.
Jakey also addressed Ginge's tearful moment in camp, attributing it to homesickness and feeling alienated by some campmates. He said Ginge's sense of humour might not have been understood by non-UK campmates like Jack Osbourne and Ruby Wax, but insisted 'he's genuinely exactly the same as he's on camera'.
