Amy Winehouse's parents, Janis Winehouse and Mitch Winehouse, reunited this week to pay their respects on the 14th anniversary of the singer's death. The former couple, who divorced in 1993, were seen together at Edgwarebury Cemetery in London on Wednesday, July 23, accompanied by loved ones and fans.
Janis, 70, and Mitch, 74, both used walking aids as they sombrely marked the occasion. Flowers were left at Amy's grave, where she is buried alongside her paternal grandmother, Cynthia Levy, who died in 2006. The singer died in 2011 at age 27 from accidental alcohol poisoning.
Since her death, Janis and Mitch have remained close and established the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which aims to inspire children and young people to build self-esteem and resilience. The anniversary was also commemorated on Amy's official Instagram account with a photo and a caption reading: 'Remembering our Amy today. A voice and a soul that left us far too soon and lives on through all who love her. 14 September 1983 ~ 23 July 2011.'
Fans paid tribute on social media, with one writing: 'This is a beautiful picture of Amy! May she always be remembered.'
