Amanda Holden Reveals Daughter's Five-Word Critique That Makes Her Reconsider Outfits

Amanda Holden has disclosed that a sharp five-word critique from her daughter is all it takes to make her reconsider her wardrobe choice. The Britain's Got Talent judge, known for her bold style choices, revealed that her eldest daughter Lexi, 19, will sometimes say 'It makes you look old', prompting an immediate outfit change.

The 54-year-old, who shares daughters Lexi and Hollie, 12, with husband Chris Hughes, said their opinions matter to her. Speaking to The Sun's TV magazine, she explained: 'My daughters normally love my outfits, but Lexi is quite critical, like her daddy.' She added that while she usually sticks to her choices if she likes them, Lexi's comment about looking old is one she listens to.

Amanda's outfits have often sparked controversy, with one ensemble drawing over 600 viewer complaints to Ofcom. Last week, she and co-judge Alesha Dixon faced 72 gripes for outfits deemed 'too revealing for a family show' during the Britain's Got Talent final. In July 2017, a daring Julien Macdonald number became the year's most controversial TV topic, which Amanda wryly dubbed a 'national crisis'.

Despite the backlash, Amanda remains unapologetic. She told Closer magazine: 'I'm always asked about the Ofcom complaints, but every outfit on the show is checked before I leave my dressing room, so I'm never worried. I think people should have fun with fashion!' She also insisted she will not be covered up, stating: 'There's no way I'd step out in my pyjamas... To preserve my own sense of dignity, I always try to look good.'

The Britain's Got Talent series recently concluded with Harry Moulding winning the title.
