Alison Hammond has opened up about her rarely-seen boyfriend of three years, David Putnam, revealing the secret behind their passionate romance in an extremely rare comment about her private life.
The This Morning presenter, 51, has been dating the 29-year-old, 6ft10 model since 2023 after booking him for a massage. They now live together at a house just outside of Birmingham.
'One of the most loving people'
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the Bake Off host called David 'one of the most loving people'. She said: 'I've always had issues with my boyfriends, this one I don't. We get on really well. We love each other. I never have to worry and second-guess how he feels about me. He's wonderful.'
She added: 'When you say he's 29, I can't believe it. It's like he's 55.'
'We're kissing a lot'
Alison also enthused: 'We're kissing a lot. I'm having a lot of massages. He's got healing hands. The other day I had shoulder problems, but as soon as he massaged me I was fine. What more can you ask for?'
However, she has ruled out discussing marriage and completely ruled out giving her 21-year-old son Aidan any siblings.
'Maybe David wants to have children in the future. I can't give him that. I would never ever stop him doing that, but I feel marriage is archaic,' she said. 'I don't want to belong to anyone. I don't want to change my name. I might get engaged, but some man owning me? It's not gonna happen!'
Relationship confirmed in 2024
Alison confirmed her relationship with David back in 2024 on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe's Parenting Hell podcast, admitting dating has got harder since her son has grown older.
'It's more difficult now because he is more verbal now that he is older. He'll want to know who this person is and he'll want to meet them,' she said. 'It's a lot harder. He'll wanna know that this guy is treating me well.'
Thankfully, she was able to confirm: 'When they actually met, he really liked him, he really thought he was lovely, so that's nice.'
