Adam Peaty's Brother Arrested Over Stag Do Threats

Adam Peaty's older brother, James, has been arrested on suspicion of harassment after allegedly sending threats to the Olympic swimmer during his stag weekend. The 34-year-old was detained at his home in Uttoxeter on Monday and later released on conditional bail, Staffordshire Police confirmed.

The incident unfolded when Peaty, 30, returned from a stag do in Budapest with future father-in-law Gordon Ramsay. He was met by police at Manchester Airport after his fiancée, Holly Ramsay, raised the alarm over threatening messages. The couple is due to marry in the coming weeks.

Family tensions have been simmering since 2021, when Peaty's autobiography highlighted his brother's 'demons.' Although they reconciled, a fresh rift emerged in June over a building project. Sources claim Peaty's family has been uninvited from the wedding, with only his sister expected to attend.

Peaty's father, Mark, told The Sun: 'They're brothers, they've always been close, but like any normal family, brothers fight, argue, fall out, make up and start all over again. But it's got out of hand.' He cited James's 'genuine mental health difficulties' as a factor.

Meanwhile, Peaty's aunt, Louise, criticised the couple, accusing them of body-shaming his mother, Caroline, by asking her to change her dress before revoking her invitation. A source told the Daily Mail that Caroline, a 'normal woman,' did not fit the 'glam' image of Holly's social media.
