The Great British Sewing Bee bid farewell to another contestant on Thursday as Adele narrowly missed out on a place in the quarter-final.
During the episode, the remaining sewers faced three challenges in music week. The pattern challenge saw them recreate Madonna's iconic cone bra, while the transformation task split the group into two teams of three to make pop-artist outfits from bedroom furniture.
In the made-to-measure challenge, contestants created outfits inspired by 1970s disco pop music. Anna impressed the judges and earned garment of the week, but for Adele, her outfit did not hit the mark.
Host and contestants react to Adele's exit
After announcing her exit, host Sophie Willan commented: "You've been wonderful, ginger nut." The other contestants hugged Adele as they bid her farewell.
In a cutaway, Adele was overcome with emotion, saying: "I've had so much fun, I've met the best friends, and I'll remember it for the rest of my life." She told the two judges it was a 'dream' to meet them.
Judge Patrick told the cameras: "Adele can go out feeling fantastically proud. She gave herself a mountain to climb, coming bottom in both yesterday's challenges. Today, everybody else was on their A-game, and so it was almost an impossible task to drag herself back."
Anna's shock win and fan reactions
Anna confessed she was 'shocked' to earn garment of the week, as Esme told the camera she 'absolutely loved' the trousers Anna had made.
Viewers shared their thoughts on Adele's exit on X. One person said: "Loved all of Adele's makes a great seamstress #sewingbee." Another wrote: "Sad to see Adele to go." A third shared: "Adele made more work for herself with the trousers. Patrick was right about losing the pockets and fly." While someone else commented: "Very unlucky. Really liked Adele."
