Oasis documentary premiere: Gallagher brothers in Venice

Noel and Liam Gallagher attended the world premiere of their new Oasis documentary at the Venice Film Festival, where the brothers posed for photographers after arriving together by boat.

Premiere at Venice Film Festival

The Venice Film Festival, held annually in Italy, is considered one of the most prestigious film events in the world. Films premiering this year include Danny Boyle's Ink, Martin McDonagh's Wild Horse Nine and Lance Oppenheim's Primetime. While Hollywood stars such as Robert Pattinson, Jack O'Connell and Maggie Gyllenhaal are in attendance, the Gallagher brothers have drawn the most attention.

The documentary, titled Don't Look Back In Anger, offers a behind-the-scenes look at Oasis Live '25, a set of gigs that saw Liam and Noel reunite on stage for the first time in 16 years. The performances included five homecoming nights at Manchester's Heaton Park.

Brothers arrive together

Noel and Liam arrived at the festival together on Saturday (September 5), despite skipping a press conference on the project. Photographers captured the pair on a boat as they crossed one of the city's canals, both wearing sunglasses. Noel wore a plum long sleeve shirt and blue jeans, while Liam wore a long sleeve dark green shirt similar to those he normally wears on stage.

Shortly after, the brothers made their way to the event's venue, where they stood behind a festival backdrop and posed for cameras.

Release plans

The film is set to be released in cinemas on Wednesday (September 9) for a limited run of screenings before it becomes available to stream on Disney+ in the UK later this year. It will also air on Hulu internationally. At least 20 independent and chain cinemas across Greater Manchester will show the film, with both ODEON and VUE confirming it will be shown at all of their combined 185 cinemas across the country.
