Brit Nathan Davies has eaten 15 fish fingers in one minute to break the world record, as reported by the Daily Star. The father of two made the attempt during an appearance on the ITV quiz show The 1% Club.
Record-Breaking Eaters
Nathan is not the first person to make the Guinness Book of Records with unusual eating feats. Others include Donald Gorske, a retired prison officer from Wisconsin, US, who holds the record for most Big Macs eaten in a lifetime, at around 35,000. He has eaten one almost every day since 1972.
Michel Lotito, known as Monsieur Mangetout, claimed the Guinness record for the "strangest diet" by eating 900g of metal a day. The Frenchman died in 2007 at age 57, and his record has now been retired.
Fast and Unusual Feats
Competitive eater Joey Chestnut, from Kentucky, US, is said to hold 55 world records, including one for eating 76 hotdogs in 10 minutes at a New York contest in July 2021. Alex Williams set the record for most stinging nettles eaten in one minute, managing five feet of the weeds in a 2005 challenge on ITV's Paul O'Grady Show.
The star-nosed mole holds the record for the world's fastest-eating mammal. With its facial tentacles, it can identify, grab and eat prey like worms and insects in 120 milliseconds.
