Emmerdale spoilers: Tate wedding aftermath brings devastation

New Emmerdale spoilers reveal the aftermath of Dawn and Joe Tate's wedding brings devastating consequences for the village, as DS Ramsden shifts her focus onto one villager and Sarah's guilt spirals out of control.

Producer Laura Shaw had promised the wedding won't be one to forget, adding that it will affect lives for years to come. Many viewers were hoping Joe will finally get his comeuppance after his years of mind games and deceit, with Dawn planning to escape for good with ex-husband Billy Fletcher.

DS Ramsden's plan

Serena is taken aback as DS Ramsden furtively announces her plan. In the police interview room, DS Ramsden appears to relish the emotional pain she's inflicting on a villager. A flashback reveals there is way more to this relationship than first assumed.

Sarah's guilt spirals

Charity and Sarah are still working hard to maintain their lie about the circumstances of Todd's demise. When Bear talks to Sarah about the anguish killing Todd will be causing Charity, he doesn't know he's accurately describing the feelings of the real killer standing in front of him. The day of Todd's funeral causes Sarah's guilt to spike.

Charity's attempt to put together a happy family meal is wrecked when DS Ramsden turns up to discuss some anomalies in her statement about Todd. After Thea escorts Charity down to the station, a stunned silence descends around the table, leaving Sarah wracked with guilt.

In a police interview room, Charity is left anxious as the forensics undermine her account of fighting off Todd. Serena is alarmed to hear that Sarah wants to tell the police everything, fearing that emotional Sarah will end up getting her locked up too.

Vinny makes a mistake

Vinny tells Kev he's decided to postpone proposing to Lewis. Later that week, Vinny is scared to think Kev overheard his private conversation with Gabby.

After Kev swears secrecy, Vinny opens up, but Kev's angry reaction leaves Vinny thinking he's made a big mistake in confiding in him.

Elsewhere in the village, something is clearly weighing heavily on Gabby's mind.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX and YouTube from 7am.
