Jill Roberts, the Boston woman who ended her relationship with Tartan Army footsoldier Tommy Morrison after his criminal charges emerged, has confirmed she will still travel to Scotland and hopes to meet fans during her visit.
The 42-year-old American singer announced her split from Morrison last week, following a Daily Record report that the 38-year-old joiner from Bonnyrigg was facing serious criminal charges. The couple met during the World Cup when Scotland fans gathered at Fenway Park in Boston on June 16, and their romance attracted a large online following.
Planned Itinerary and Fan Meet-Ups
Jill has revealed she will embark on a week-long trip across the Atlantic, taking in Edinburgh, Crieff, and Glasgow. She hopes to meet online supporters and attend a Celtic match while in Glasgow.
She said: “I didn’t want anyone left wondering what the plan was, so here’s the full rundown: a couple of days in Edinburgh, a solo reset in Crieff, then Glasgow for connecting and finally meeting the hilarious Beth Knight Art plus a Celtic match.”
TikTok comedian Beth Knight, an American who documents her life in Glasgow, said Jill will attend her show at Andersons in the city on September 3rd, where they hope to host a Q&A. Jill also said she would love to meet fans in both Glasgow and Edinburgh and asked for venue recommendations.

She added: “I would love to meet as many of you as possible in person.” The Boston mum admitted she will have to return to Scotland, saying: “I’ve already accepted I’ll need to come back for round two.”
Her post also thanked Scottish supporters who have rallied around her after the break-up with Hibs fan Tommy. She wrote: “So many of you have been unbelievably kind to me over these last few months, especially this last week.”
Background of the Relationship
The pair first met after Jill went to watch the Boston Red Sox take on the Toronto Blue Jays for Pride Night, unaware that thousands of Scotland supporters would also be at the ballpark. As she walked to her car, she bumped into Tommy, who was heading to the train station.
They chatted briefly and Jill recorded a video of the encounter, but they parted without exchanging numbers. She later said she regretted not getting his contact details. Fate intervened when one of Tommy’s ex-girlfriends spotted Jill’s social media post and passed on his number, leading to WhatsApp messages.
At the time, Jill described the relationship as an unexpected gift from Scotland’s World Cup adventure. Tommy had spoken excitedly about their planned reunion, joking that Jill believed everyone in Scotland lived in castles and wore kilts every day, and promised to organise a special surprise for her visit.
The Daily Record later revealed Tommy had appeared in court earlier this year on charges of offences under Solemn Procedure, which are usually dealt with by trial before a judge and a jury of 15 people.
