Parks and Recreation cast: tragedy to A-list weddings

The cast of Parks and Recreation has experienced a range of career highs, personal milestones and tragedies since the beloved sitcom ended more than a decade ago. The show, which remains available on Paramount+ and Channel 4, launched breakout roles for several stars while featuring established names from Saturday Night Live and other hits.

Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman

Amy Poehler, who played Leslie Knope, moved into directing after her own sitcom, helming Netflix films Wine Country and Moxie while voicing Joy in Pixar's Inside Out and its sequel. She co-hosted the Golden Globes in 2021 with fellow SNL alum Tina Fey, and they reunited on screen in Sisters. Poehler also hosts the podcast Good Hang, interviewing actors, comedians, authors, musicians and former co-stars.

Nick Offerman, despite admitting to typecasting after Ron Swanson, has appeared in Devs, The Resort, The Last of Us, Death By Lightning and Margo's Got Money Troubles. He voices Beef Tobin in The Great North, hosted reality series Making It alongside Poehler, wrote a memoir, starred in Civil War and Voicemails for Isabelle, and is set to appear in the upcoming Elden Ring adaptation.

Rashida Jones and Aziz Ansari

Rashida Jones, who left during season six but returned for the finale, has written screenplays, contributed to Toy Story 4, and posted a short-lived podcast with Bill Gates. Us Weekly reported she welcomed her first child with partner Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend in 2018.

Aziz Ansari returned to stand-up with Live at Madison Square Garden, released the same year as the finale. His 2019 special Right Now addressed misconduct allegations: "I'm sure that some of you are curious how I feel about that whole situation. And it's a tricky thing for me to answer, because I've felt so many things in the last year." He created Master of None, earning two Emmys for writing and a Golden Globe for Best Actor, and most recently starred in, wrote and directed Good Fortune with Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen. He married Serena Skov Campbell in 2022.

Aubrey Plaza and Chris Pratt

Aubrey Plaza starred in Legion, season 2 of The White Lotus and Agatha All Along. She married Jeff Baena in 2021; he was found dead in 2025, months after their quiet separation. Plaza pulled out of hosting the Golden Globes days later. She welcomed her first child with partner Christopher Abbott in April 2026, and her animated series Kevin debuted this year.

Chris Pratt became Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy, starred in the Jurassic World franchise, The Lego Movie, The Terminal List and voices Mario in The Super Mario Movie. He married Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019, and they share three children.

Retta, Adam Scott and Rob Lowe

Retta, full name Marietta Sirleaf, starred in Good Girls and hosts Ugliest House in America and Scariest House in America, while still performing stand-up.

Adam Scott plays Mark in Apple TV+'s Severance, earning Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, and appeared in Madame Web and The Monkey. He will next be seen in Netflix's The Whisper Man.

Rob Lowe, a 1980s Brat Pack member, starred in Code Black, 9-1-1: Lone Star and co-created Unstable. He hosts Literally! with Rob Lowe and was the original host of the rewatch podcast Parks and Recollection with Alan Yang.

Jim O'Heir and notable guest stars

Jim O'Heir, who played Jerry, appeared in Better Call Saul, Doctor Odyssey, Rooster, Young Rock, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Veep. He hosted Parks and Recollection until 2024 and wrote Welcome to Pawnee: Stories of Friendship, Waffles and Parks and Recreation.
