Three Rolex Gang Suspects Killed in Police Shootout

Three suspected members of the criminal organisation known as the “Rolex gang” have died in a brutal shootout with police in Johannesburg, South Africa. The incident occurred on Thursday after law enforcement acted on intelligence linking three separate vehicles to the gang.

High-Speed Chase Ends in Gunfire

Police pursued one of the vehicles along the N3 motorway near the Baccleuch Interchange. The driver refused to stop, leading to a high-speed chase that escalated into an exchange of gunfire. After the shooting, the suspect's vehicle came to a standstill, and the three occupants were found dead at the scene. No police officers were injured in the confrontation.

Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said the operation was sparked by intelligence about “a group of men driving in three separate vehicles around the malls and they are suspected to be involved with the ‘Rolex gang’.”

Multi-Agency Operation

Multiple law enforcement units were involved, including the Gauteng Tactical Response Team, the Provincial Anti-Gang Unit, the Gauteng Traffic Air Wing, and private security partners. Colonel Nevhuhulwi praised the collaboration, stating: “The collaboration between various law enforcement agencies and private security companies continue to produce positive results in the fight against crime.”
