A 17-year-old boy remains in hospital with serious injuries following an alleged stabbing on a residential street in Aberaman, Rhondda Cynon Taf. Police and paramedics responded to reports of a stabbing on Gwawr Street at around 9.40pm on Monday, June 29.
Arrest Made in Connection with Stabbing
An 18-year-old man from Llantrisant was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
South Wales Police confirmed the arrest and stated that the victim is still being treated in hospital for his injuries. A spokesperson said: "South Wales Police was called last night (Monday June 29) at 9.40pm to reports of a stabbing on Gwawr Street, Aberaman. An 18-year-old man from Llantrisant has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and attempted murder and remains in police custody. The victim is still currently in hospital."
Police Presence in the Area
A large police presence was reported at the KFC in Cwmbach and surrounding areas on Tuesday as officers continued their investigation. Residents were advised to expect ongoing police activity in the vicinity.
