Merseyside Police have released images of four men they believe can assist with an investigation into a brawl at a car wash on Long Lane in Walton, which left a man with a puncture wound to his back.
Incident details
Police were called to Long Lane Hand Car Wash at around 6.35pm on July 5 following reports of a group of males fighting. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had left. An employee at the car wash, in his 20s, was taken to hospital with a puncture wound to his back. He has since been discharged and is recovering at home.
Police appeal
Detective Inspector Jemma Berry said: "This was a nasty assault where a man sustained a serious injury which required hospital treatment. I am appealing to the four males featured in the images, or anyone who recognises them, to please contact us. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries."
Berry added: "We also encourage people to come forward if you know anything about these incidents which will help with our investigation."
Car wash owner's account
The car wash boss, Hasib Nureen, told the ECHO that "there was a small argument" that led to a group of men brawling outside the car wash gates. The suspects fled before officers arrived. A video seen by the ECHO shows a group of men fighting at the car wash before being chased away, with muffled shouting heard.
