Parents' tribute to 'darling boy' killed in Trumpington crash

The parents of a 19-year-old who died following a motorbike crash in Trumpington have paid tribute to their “darling boy”. Holton Knott was riding a black Honda motorbike when it collided with a silver Jaguar XF on the A1309 High Street on August 11.

Crash and hospital treatment

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8.50pm. Holton was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital but died the next day, according to Cambridgeshire Live.

In a tribute, his parents said: “On the evening of August 11, we received the unimaginable news that our darling boy was involved in a horrific accident.”

Family tribute

They added: “After a great effort from all the team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, it was clear Holton wasn't going to survive. We appreciate the kind-hearted messages and offers of support by many a friend and family member. Thanks again for your support in these tough times.”

“Unfortunately Holton gained his wings at 11am on Wednesday. Forever 19 and forever loved.”

Arrest and appeal

Police arrested the Jaguar driver, a 69-year-old man, on suspicion of causing death by careless/inconsiderate driving. He has been bailed until November 11.

Cambridgeshire Police is appealing for information about the crash. Anyone with details should call 101 or report it online, quoting reference 35/61647/26.
