A three-vehicle collision on the A1 near Morpeth, Northumberland, resulted in one person being taken to hospital yesterday evening. Emergency services were called to the single carriageway section of the A1 at approximately 5pm on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Details of the Incident
Northumbria Police confirmed that the crash involved three vehicles and caused significant delays for drivers in both directions while emergency crews worked at the scene. The injured person was transported to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be serious, according to a police spokesperson.
The spokesperson stated: "We were called to a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the A1 near Morpeth, Northumberland at 5pm yesterday (Monday). Emergency services attended and one person was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious."
Road Clearance and Aftermath
The vehicles involved were recovered from the carriageway, and the road was cleared a short time later. Drivers experienced long delays in both directions as 999 crews worked at the scene.
