Man Grabs Children by Hair in Park, Police Hunt Suspect

Police are searching for a man after he allegedly grabbed three young children by their hair and clothing in a Huddersfield park. The suspect also reportedly targeted another man who was playing guitar near the playground on Calton Street, West Yorkshire Police confirmed.

The individual allegedly chased three youngsters before grabbing hold of them by their clothes and hair between 4.30pm and 5pm on Tuesday, June 16. No harm was reported following the disturbing incidents.

Suspect Description

The suspect is described as being of medium height with a slim frame, short dark hair, and potentially dark facial hair. He seemed to be of Asian or Eastern European heritage and appeared to be in his thirties or forties, officers said. He was dressed in a black padded coat, green jogging suit, and dark footwear.

Police Appeal

Officers are requesting assistance from members of the public and have urged any witnesses to step forward with information. A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Police are investigating an incident where three young children had their hair and clothing grabbed by a man while in a Huddersfield park are appealing for witnesses. The incident occurred in a play area in Calton Street on Friday, 8 May between 4.30pm and 5pm. It was reported that the suspect assaulted a male who was playing a guitar and then chased after the children. No injuries were reported."
