Man Dies in Four-Vehicle Crash on A40; Arrest Made

A man has died following a four-vehicle collision on the A40 between St Clears and Whitland in Carmarthenshire, Wales, on Sunday afternoon, June 21, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 12pm and involved a grey Audi, a blue Seat, a grey Vauxhall, and an orange KTM motorbike.

Victim Pronounced Dead at Scene

The rider of the KTM motorbike, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, according to Dyfed-Powys Police.

Arrest and Bail

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries, police confirmed.

Road Closure and Investigation

The A40 was closed for collision investigation and reopened by 8:30pm the same day. Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said: "Sadly, the male rider of the KTM motorbike died as a result of their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers."
