Five people have been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle collision at Mostyn Champneys retail park in Llandudno, Wales, on Saturday morning, July 18. The incident involved a car and multiple pedestrians, with emergency services responding shortly before 11am.

Emergency Response and Casualties

Several police cars, ambulances, air ambulances, and rapid response vehicles attended the scene. The Welsh Ambulance Service dispatched one Cymru High Acuity Response Unit, one Duty Operations Manager, and three emergency ambulances. Advanced critical care was provided by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service via two Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopters. Five patients were transported by road to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

Police Statement and Appeal

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 10:50am we received multiple calls regarding a multi-vehicle collision which involved a number of pedestrians. The driver of one of the vehicles involved and a number of pedestrians were transported to hospital for further assessment." The force urged witnesses or anyone with dash camera or mobile phone footage of the vehicle before the collision to contact them via webchat or 101, quoting reference O115621.

Isolated Incident

Police confirmed the incident was isolated, contrary to social media speculation, and reassured the public there was no wider risk. A cordon was in place for several hours.
