Everton's Martin Sherif fined £5,000 for betting breaches

Everton forward Martin Sherif has been fined £5,000 for breaching The FA's betting rules, it has been confirmed. The 20-year-old, who is yet to make a first-team appearance for the club, has avoided a ban.

Admitted 61 bets over 15 months

The FA have confirmed that he admitted breaching betting rules by causing, permitting, or enabling 61 bets to be placed on matches between November 2024 and February 2026.

No ban for young forward

Sherif's punishment was announced on 8 October 2026. The forward was charged with the FA for breaches of betting rules over a 15-month period.
