A 'proud and devoted dad' was tragically discovered dead in a hotel room in Cheltenham. Graham Smith, 42, passed away at the Queens Hotel on June 11 this year. The father-of-two, who was born in Preston, was sadly declared dead at the scene.
Wife's Heartbreaking Tribute
Following Graham's death, his wife posted a touching tribute online alongside a collection of beautiful photographs of him with their sons. She wrote: 'My handsome husband, much-loved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend, but above all else, the proud and devoted dad of Corey and Olly.'
She continued: 'Graham was a goalkeeping extraordinaire, an outstanding cook, keen hiker, golfer, Bob Graham support expert and self-appointed General Knowledge World Champion. He was a man who was always factually correct... according to Graham.'
'He was a master of the wind-up and a proud wearer of Crocs, often in places where Crocs really shouldn't have been. His humour, kindness, loyalty and ability to tell you exactly why your facts, directions or opinions were wrong will be remembered by everyone lucky enough to have known him.'
Inquest Details
An inquest into Graham's death was opened and adjourned at Preston Coroners' Court on Thursday, July 2. Senior Coroner Chris Long confirmed that the cause of death was consistent with Graham from Lostock Hall having sadly taken his own life. The court heard Graham worked as a strategic projects director. A final inquest will be held on October 27.
