A 24-year-old father has turned himself in to police in Valencia, Spain, after allegedly slitting the throat of his toddler son's speech therapist. The incident reportedly occurred when the man found his child without a nappy during an appointment.
Details of the Incident
The suspect, identified only as David G.S., is said to have left his two-year-old son briefly to smoke a cigarette outside the clinic. Upon returning, he found the child with his trousers down and no nappy on. Enraged, he confronted the 32-year-old therapist, demanding to see security cameras. When the therapist refused, the father began beating him and then fatally wounded him with a knife he had in his possession. The victim died at the scene after having his throat slit.
Witness Accounts
Witnesses reported hearing the suspect yell, 'Either you show me the cameras or I'll kill you,' before the stabbing. After the attack, David G.S. drove home and then went to a police station to confess. Officers found the victim lying in a pool of blood at the clinic. The area was cordoned off for forensic investigation.
Legal Proceedings
It remains unclear whether the suspect will appear before an investigating judge on June 16 or after a second night in custody. He is expected to be remanded to a local prison following a closed-door court appearance, as is standard in Spain where only trials are public.
