A 56-year-old man has been arrested after being spotted with his trousers down near a primary school in Huyton. Merseyside Police were called to Gentwood Road, close to St Aloysius School, at around 3.10pm on Tuesday, June 16, following reports of a man allegedly standing in the street with his trousers pulled down.
Footage widely shared on social media appears to show the man being arrested by several police officers before being led to the back of a police van. Police confirmed the man was arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency and suspected theft of bank cards. He was taken to a police station for questioning, where enquiries remain ongoing.
Police Appeal for Information
Officers have continued to carry out investigations in the area and are seeking information from members of the public. Detective Chief Inspector Cath Cummings said: "We are still investigating the exact circumstances of this incident and if you have any information and have not yet spoken to police, please do so."
She added: "We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who lives on Gentwood Road and has doorbell or other footage. Please come forward via our official channels, as commenting on social media can impede our work."
