Nicole Beling, 60, was found dead at her home in South Croydon after being reported missing. The discovery was made on July 17 at her residence on Dittoncroft Close, following a relative's report just after midnight.
Investigation and Arrest
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Beling was deemed a high-risk missing person, prompting officers to search the premises where they found her body. Her death is currently treated as unexplained, with the cause not yet established.
A 61-year-old man was detained at the scene on suspicion of murder and later released pending further investigation. He was re-arrested on August 1 and has been granted bail while enquiries continue.
Appeal for Information
The Met's Specialist Crime Command is appealing for anyone with information to come forward. Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who is leading the investigation, said: "A formal murder investigation has not been launched at this time and we are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances surrounding Nicole's sad death."
"We want to hear from anyone who knew Nicole or may have information that could assist the investigation – and help us find answers for her family. My thoughts remain with Nicole's family and loved ones."
Nicole's family are being supported by specialist officers.
