A young woman has tragically died following a severe dog attack in the remote town of Fitzroy Crossing, Western Australia.
Police Respond to Midday Incident
Police were called to the scene at approximately 12pm on Sunday, 30 November 2025, following reports of an attack. Fitzroy Crossing is situated roughly 2,400 kilometres north of Perth. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a woman in her 20s.
Second Victim Hospitalised
A man, also in his 20s, was present at the location and sustained injuries. He was taken to Fitzroy Hospital for treatment. Authorities have confirmed that his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Western Australia Police Force stated that two dogs were involved in the incident. Rangers from the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley assisted police by removing the animals from the property.
Inquiries Ongoing for Coroner
A spokesperson for the police force said inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the attack remain active. A report will be prepared for the coroner as part of the standard procedure following a sudden death.
This fatal event follows another serious dog attack in Australia last month, where a 54-year-old man was left in a critical condition after being set upon by several dogs in Sydney's western suburbs on 6 November.
