At least two people have been killed and several others injured after shots were fired at a factory in Germany. The incident took place at a factory site on Lagerstrasse on the evening of Tuesday, September 1, according to German publication BILD.
Police operation underway
Patrol cars from across the city have been dispatched to Hamburg's Schanzenviertel district following the shooting. The scene has been cordoned off by police, and a manhunt is underway around Lagerstrasse.
Officers armed with submachine guns have secured the area. Emergency services, firefighters, and paramedics cannot yet enter the building, as there may still be armed perpetrators inside.
Victims and premises
One man was fatally injured in the complex, while the other died in the ambulance. The building houses the meat processing company "DELTA Fleisch Hamburg" and the boxing stable "Universum Boxing", according to reports.
The premises are being searched by police.
