A teenage driver has died and his passenger was seriously injured after a car collided with a lorry on the A134 in Norfolk. The incident occurred on Monday morning near the villages of Stradsett and Shouldham Thorpe.
Crash details and casualties
The collision happened at approximately 9:55 am when a silver Citroen C3 and a Mercedes-Benz lorry were involved in a crash on Lynn Road. The driver of the Citroen, a male teenager, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, also a teenage male, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The lorry driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Road closure and police appeal
Police closed the road while emergency services attended the scene, reopening it at around 4:15 pm, roughly six hours after the crash. Norfolk Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward, quoting reference 36/49264/26. A police statement said: 'Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the manner of driving prior to the collision.'
