Bodycam footage captures the moment a suspect in Wythenshawe attempted to hide from police underneath a pile of clothes. Officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to a report of an incident at a home in Wythenshawe on Friday, August 21.
Officer spots suspect under kitchen tabletop
The footage, recorded by an attending officer, shows the suspect trying to evade arrest by concealing themselves under a pile of laundry. In the lead-up to the arrest, the officer can be seen looking around the kitchen and opening a cupboard before noticing a topless man hunched underneath a kitchen tabletop, next to the washing machine.
Once the officer spots him, he says: "Right, come out now! Give me your hands here."
Arrest on burglary and affray charges
The man was eventually arrested. Police say he was arrested for domestic-related aggravated burglary involving the use of a knife and affray involving the use of a knife and other weapons in a public place.
