A 33-year-old man has been taken to hospital after being found seriously injured in Greenock. Emergency services, including Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service, were called to Inverkip Road around 5pm on Tuesday.
Police presence at high-rise flats
Photos shared with the Record show at least two police cars, a police van, and an ambulance parked outside a high-rise flat on the road. Officers remain in the area as an investigation gets underway.
Condition not yet known
The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. His current condition, the extent of his injuries, and how he came to be injured are not yet known. It is also unclear if anyone else is involved.
Residents urged to approach officers
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5pm on Tuesday, 11 August, 2026, we were called to a report of a man seriously injured in the Inverkip Road area of Greenock. Emergency services attended and a 33-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment."
The spokesperson added: "Officers remain in the area and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with any information or concerns can approach them."
