A man has been rushed to hospital following an alleged stabbing in Fife. The alarm was raised around 2.30pm when officers were alerted to a disturbance in the Tuke Street area of Dunfermline on Sunday, August 16.
Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene. A 25-year-old was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries. His current condition remains unclear.
Investigation launched
An investigation has now been launched to get to the bottom of what happened. The full nature of the incident is not yet known. No arrests have been made thus far.
The street was sealed off by police last night after a large number of officers descended on the area. The road between St Margaret’s Well and Arthur Street was closed to traffic, with officers stationed at both ends of the cordon.
Street cordon in place
Nearby Headwell Avenue was also affected by the cordon. Locals reported a heavy police presence on the street, while an ambulance was also said to have been in the area before leaving.
Detectives and forensic officers were spotted at the scene and appeared to bag up items and take photographs as part of the probe. Officers were seen guarding the area, with vehicle access being denied along the affected section of the road. It is understood the cordon remains in place as officers continue their enquiries.
