M67 closed both ways after police incident for most of day

The M67 motorway is closed in both directions between junctions 3 at Hyde and 4 at Hattersley following a police incident this morning (August 4). Drivers are being warned that the closure is expected to last for the majority of the day.

Ongoing incident

National Highways has issued a warning due to the nature of the incident, stating that the road is likely to remain closed throughout the day. Greater Manchester Police Tameside has confirmed that officers are dealing with an ongoing incident on the M67.

In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police Tameside spokesperson said: "Please be aware that officers are dealing with an ongoing incident on the M67. While investigations continue, the M67 will be closed in both directions for majority of the day. Please find an alternate route and we are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause."
