A driver was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after his silver Nissan Qashqai crashed into fences and walls on the Great Orme in Llandudno, North Wales. The incident occurred around 11am on Saturday, July 11, 2026, prompting multiple calls to police reporting a car driving erratically.
Collision on Marine Drive
The vehicle was later found on Marine Drive, where it had collided with a wall and came to a stop above the historic gun sites. Emergency services including Llandudno Coastguard Rescue Team, North Wales Police, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Welsh Ambulance Service, Wales Air Ambulance, Conwy Lifeboat, and RNLI Llandudno Lifeboat attended the scene.
The driver was extracted from the vehicle by air ambulance crews and transported to hospital, where he remains under treatment for serious injuries, according to North Wales Police.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
North Wales Police issued a statement urging anyone who witnessed the vehicle being driven prior to the collision, or who was in the area at the time, to come forward. They are also seeking dashcam or mobile phone footage of the vehicle before the crash.
“We are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision which occurred on the Great Orme, Llandudno yesterday (11/07/2026). Shortly after 11am, we received multiple calls regarding a silver coloured Nissan Qashqai which was reported to be driving erratically around the top of the Great Orme and in surrounding farmland where it had collided with fences and walls,” the police statement read.
“We later located the vehicle on Marine Drive where it had collided with a wall and had come to a rest above the area of the gun sites. The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with serious injuries where he remains under treatment.”
