North Wales Police searching for a missing man in Holyhead town centre have discovered a body. The discovery was made near Stanley Street early in the morning.
Search for missing man
Martin Maguire, 60, had been reported missing from the Holyhead area. Police had issued an appeal on Wednesday, August 12, expressing growing concern for his welfare.
A cordon was established near the police station and the former magistrates court in the town centre.
Body recovered
Officers have confirmed that a body has been recovered. The deceased has not been formally identified.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "Officers searching for a missing man have sadly discovered a body near to Stanley Street in Holyhead early this morning."
"Whilst the man is yet to be formally identified, the next of kin have been informed, as has the Coroner."
