Woman charged over graffiti at New Brighton hardware shop

A woman has been charged with causing criminal damage after graffiti was scrawled on a New Brighton hardware shop. The incident was reported on Saturday, September 26, when someone sprayed paint on a wall of Rightway on Victoria Road.

Arrest and charge

Merseyside Police was called to a premises on Victoria Road at around 2.50pm yesterday, Thursday October 8, following reports of a concern for safety. There were no offences identified, but a woman was arrested in connection with an unrelated report of criminal damage, a spokesperson said.

Rachel Naomi Waltemeye, 33, of no fixed address, was arrested yesterday and has now been charged with criminal damage to property. She has been remanded to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today, Friday October 9.
