A vehicle has slammed into the front garden wall of a house in South Bank, just hours after a deadly house fire nearby and days after a fatal crash on the A66.
Cleveland Police said it received a "number of calls" reporting a vehicle had crashed into a wall at an address on Steele Crescent shortly after 12.30am on Thursday. Locals said they saw the car driving into the wall "over and over".
Police Investigate Possible Links to Organised Crime
This follows a house fire that claimed two lives just a seven minutes drive away yesterday, after which Cleveland Police said it "cannot rule out any links to wider organised crime".
Superintendent Emily Harrison, Redcar and Cleveland local policing commander, said: "The property was empty at the time and we have not currently received any reports of any injuries.
"Officers are conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident. Our investigation is in its early stages and it has not yet been confirmed whether this incident is linked to wider organised crime."
