Two women from the Netherlands were allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped after travelling to Pakistan to meet investors. The women journeyed to Islamabad after one was reportedly offered networking opportunities by the grandson of a politician.
Alleged Kidnapping and Assault
The grandson is alleged to have arranged their visas and collected them upon arrival. After three days in Islamabad, the women were invited to a birthday party but instead were taken to a house in Lahore, where they were allegedly raped, beaten, and threatened with death.
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the men demanded £1.12 million ($1.5 million) in ransom and threatened to harvest and sell the women's organs. One woman said: "I said I had no money, but he insisted, otherwise he would kill me."
Ransom Payment and Escape
The men allegedly used the woman's mobile phone to transfer £12,700 ($17,000) to a crypto wallet. Later, the women were told the family had paid enough ransom and they would be driven to an airport. During the journey, the politician's grandson hit the car in front, and the woman jumped out. They ran screaming into a garage and were found by a traffic officer.
Arrests and Investigation
Four men have been arrested over the alleged sexual offences on June 29. Police are investigating the allegations. A spokeswoman for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "We are providing consular assistance. Due to privacy, the ministry cannot comment further on individual cases."
