Missing Rochdale man found dead in Tameside cemetery tent

The body of Angelo Fruscella, a 57-year-old binman from Rochdale, was found inside a tent in Ashton-under-Lyne on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. He had been reported missing by his brother, John Fruscella, a month earlier.

According to John, Angelo was discovered at a cemetery near Grafton Street by a homeless outreach worker. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that a missing person report was made to the police on August 9 and that enquiries were made to locate Angelo.

Family search and tribute

John says that after his brother was reported missing, the family also searched for him, but did not know of his whereabouts until they were told of his death in Tameside.

Paying tribute, John said: "He was really good, his step family absolutely adored him. He was great with kids absolutely great with kids."

Impact on loved ones

"All the kids are absolutely devastated. He had loads of grandkids. It's gutting, my brother had a bit of a past but he'd turned his life around," he added.
